Review Blanket Ban on carrying Liquor in Delhi Metro Trains

Bonafide passengers carrying liquor bottles to and fro airport are denied boarding metro due to liquor appearing in banned items list.

Due to this reason, hundreds of travellers disembarking at IGI International Airport are not allowed to avail metro services. It is common knowledge that travellers from different foreign destinations carry sealed liquor bottles permitted under Custom rules.
Even domestic flights permit carrying of 4 Liquor bottles within India in baggage.

Under above circumstances, policy for blanket ban on carrying liquor may be reviewed as DMRC lose thousands of passengers daily (who are only perceived threat).
It is suggested that holistic approach may be taken and bonafide passengers carrying air tickets be allowed to travel by DMRC trains with sealed Liquor bottles as permitted under airport rules.

This step will give a sigh of relief to genuine airport bound passengers/ disembarking travellers.
Further, increase in passengers will increase DMRC revenue also. more

Carrying sealed liquor bottle should be allowed on metro - whether it is on airport route or elsewhere. This has a certain element of risk that the passenger may take in sealed bottle at the entrance but after that there is no way to ensure that he would not consume that liquor on the way. Law enforcement shd take care of such a case if passenger consumes liquor - the law should be that consumption of liquor is not allowed on Metro rather than a ban on carrying it. more
good to prevent unsocial elements. more
Sealed bottles should be allowed in metro. more
I also opine that law made for not allowing liqour bottles in metro is good and very clear. more
