This is going on during Corona times for past 3 months
I have generated a bill for electricity and paid actual amount for using electricity
I have not paid arbitrarily

Process is simple,
Get smartphone registered with the office
BSES sends a message a week in advance
Follow up with the message
Click a picture on smartphone
Send picture of the reading on the link provided .
Within few days, we'll get a message from BSES that the actual bill has been generated
We have options for paying bills like before.
I have been paying automatically through my CC
Ditto for PNG
This is the way to save human resources

@Satya Pal Ratti. Sir, now a days the technology is being mandated whether pvt or PSU. In Haryana, PSU Discoms are taking meter reading, sending you sms, generates the bill then and there and handover immdtly to house owners. If you find meter reading wrong, use online reading submission. more

BSES have offered another alternative for senior citizens. If you are one, you only need to send SC to a number provided by BSES. In such cases their rep comes for meter reading and you get your bill a few days later. Another good thing which they have introduced is that they keep you informed about every step on your registered phone number. more

@Dr. Neelam Nath, Mam, the date of meter reading is an important issue as the slabs rates are to a large extent depends upon the number of days between opening reading and closing reading. At times, it makes a lot of difference. Please monitor this aspect also. May be we continue atleast till lock-down period. This concept has recently been implemented in Haryana too but in a case where the meter reading has not taken place by the staff or if the incorrect reading has been taken. In case of BSES, you should get a discount if you are sending the reading dispensing the visit of their reading staff. I have a query mam. Whether the meter reading taken by you coincide with the date of issuing the bill? more

We are given 20/- twenty rupees discount !

Process is similar as if someone has taken the reading from meter,without our knowledge.
I have never seen the person from BSES who had been taking the reading before lockdown.
Maybe now I have to trust BSES,because my bills are not inflated. more

Ashwani Khanna, it's helpful for seniors to generate the Bill's,specifically PNG No Entry to the kitchen for strangers who are duty bound to take readings house after house with innumerable flats ! more
