Water Meters should be made mandatory in Individual Apartments in Residential Apartments.

Water Meter Installation should be made mandatory in all the residential apartments in all the housing societies.

Household in apartments pay a fixed water bill irrespective of the amount of water each unit consumes. Smart water meters in Individual household can record, store and transmit water consumption data to house owners , allowing them to see how much they are consuming.

At present this meter installation in individual household is optional and not mandatory. Making it mandatory can go a long way in Saving / Conserving this precious resource.

Let this start with all the residential apartments in all the major cities in Maharashtra and Rest of the Country. This will help in Water Conservation , People will use water Judiciously , Water Wastage can be considerably reduced , if not eliminated. more

water meter is not solution for societies....... more
Yes I do Agree and should be mandatory as suggested more
Yes I agree, it's a most important tool to conserve precious water more
In already constructed high rise buildings installing individual water meters per flat (similar to power connections) is not possible. It means relaying all the Pipes which is horrendously expensive. Such meters must be put up at the time of construction which no builder does. more
Yes, that would be the best step in conserving water in buildings having multiple flats. I have seen many residents and their Maids wasting tons of water everyday. understood that it might need multiple meters or relaying of pipes, but water is more precious. more
