Infrastructure is insufficient to cater to the ever increasing population

The Covid pandemic has resulted in pandemonium and utter chaos across the country. With the shortage of vaccines, it might be feasible to control the spread by resorting to limited lockdowns for a specific period. Infrastructure has been found to be insufficient to cater to the ever increasing population.
Identify the high risk areas like major cities, towns, urban areas and deploy the army to enforce a limited lockdown. During the outbreak of the pandemic last year, some states like Kerala, Tamilnadu, Gujarat, MP etc to name a few had delivered the essential items to the people at their homes and ensured that they did not step out of their house. This helped in combating the spread of the virus significantly. However, in many other states, this was not the case. The same holds true now. Therefore to step up infrastructure in major cities, towns, smart cities etc to cater to the current and future incremental population, it would be feasible to allocate significant funds from the Centre which would be possible if these are made Union Territories under Central rule. One can refer the city of Chandigarh being a Union territory and Capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana. Classify the major cities, towns, urban areas into Union territories for the betterment of the people, society and country. To tackle the pandemic it has to be a collective effort from all States by keeping politics aside and become United States of India. Finally it is the Praja who should be benefitted for the nation to prosper. The sooner the pandemic is controlled, the better it will be. Despite China having a huge population, there are hardly any incremental cases. That speaks volumes about control. more

Thanks for the views expressed by the author as well as the readers! In addition to what the Government/s can do, let us introspect about what can we do to utilize the existing infrastucture better, keeping in mind both safety of people and creation of work/ jobs for the less fortunate. Could Agro-Processing at the origins/ near the origins be one of the options? more
We would have done better but the Opposition made by people earlier to Vaccination seems to be the Root cause. Much of the Vaccination expired earlier Resulting to a huge loss that has been seen. See the example of Bhutan how they Acted with their limitation s and how they Conquer. more
Yes ,it is true our infrastructure is not sufficient in every respect. Not only primary health care , education or food production ,it is a story of shortfall every where. India is a poor country. More poor is its mindset and administrative capabilities. Cream of the talents moves out of country as the opportunities are galore for efficient individuals out side the country. What is left out , tuned with corrupt administration and outdated processes /systems. we not get any thing better. Our focus is lost. India need to reinvent her wisdom . more
Atleast now everyone is realizing that whatever infrastructure we build it will be less. Nothing to do with population. It is more to do with the habbits we live with. So let us try and change ourselves and try to live in cleanliness. Even today I see cricketers playing IPL keep spitting. i see people raising fingers on China. At the end of the day they have managed to control and today even offered help to India inspite of India taking so making business decisions against them. This is another lesson we must learn. Finally Pm says continue business with China. Anyway let us learn good things from Corona also for future. more
It is very shameful to praise China, the country which has given birth to Huan Virus. We know the countries like Pakistan,Burma where China pretending giving help is trying to capture the countries for its benefits. more
China has No Democracy and therefore it can impose draconian rules to control it's population and also to control the spread of True news. Can we impose a dictatorship In India? We are using freedom of speech to derogate our own Govt..And our press is ever so happy to promote fake news especially if it anti Govt. This time the second wave is taking its toll because we also wanted our economy to prosper, hoping that this wave will not be as destructive as the first one. It did not happen. If every one is to be blamed including citizens, state and central Govts, does not amount to blaming no one? Within a month with import of vaccines and stepping up Oxygen Supplies, lets hope the situation will be under control. more
