Some good news: Pay less for power
In a relief to consumers across Maharashtra amid the coronavirus lockdown, power tariffs of BEST, Tata Power, Adani Electricity and MSEDCL have been reduced from April 1. The regulator, MERC, issued the orders on Monday evening.
While residential tariffs for BEST will go down by 1.4%, household power charges for Tata will drop by 10%, while Adani consumers will see a 12.3% drop and MSEDCL residential users a 5% reduction. If one goes by overall average tariff reduction across categories, it is 8% for BEST, 19% for Tata, 18% for Adani and 7% for MSEDCL. The tariffs are expected to remain flat for the remaining four years of the control period.
You will see a drop in power bills and a saving of up to Rs 600 per month for an Adani user with 300 units consumption, and of Rs 1,295 per month for a Tata consumer with 500 units. more
