Most of us have moved form villages to cities and lately from houses to apartments and high risers. There is a lag in learning new ways and new cultural standards. It is important that habits change.Unfortunately we call ourselves a democratic country where no body is ready to listen to anybody else.Either television, radio or cultural enforcement through fines need be imposed to drive responsibility. more

Indians have croress of rupees worth cars, jewellery, furniture, dresses in their homes talk of all sorts of development, BUT THROW GARBAGE EVERYWHERE, SPITTING ANYWHERE IS THEIR ONLY PASS TIME. EXTREMELY STRINGENT LAWS ARE NECESSARY. But here also chacha mama tau of politicians crop up and get away with all wrong practices. more
I came back from the UK in 1988 and ever since I have seen nothing but deterioration in the civic sense amongst us all. Also the only way we follow rules is either there is a economic benefit in it or the law ACTUALLY punishes our disobedience. As the law here is not implemented we all don't see a reason to obey it . Left to ourselves we will not obey the law -- 14 crore traffic violations a day in NCR !!!.

I think we should start teaching our children ( and grandchildren ) these values so that when they grow up they take responsibility for their actions and have better civic sense.

Education is at homes - colleges just give you degrees !
