Polythene ban

yday someone was talking about ban of polythenes by noida authority. How does any authority plan to execute this be it delhi noida or gurgaon more

why don't you guys make use of "Clean Noida App". It helped me and I would request you all to please download it and escalate by sharing the photographs of dirty places. We all need to work collectively to make this city cleaner. Thanks Sumit more
All this talk of Swachh Bharat is most depressing. Everyday I walk outside my house there are piles of old papers, plastic, wrapping material and of course betel spit. This is only getting worse daily. Can the Govt of Delhi and the Central Govt take up a sustained campaign on cleanliness, road traffic management and air pollution and stop interfering in everyday affairs? These three affect everyone and most definitely the poor most adversely. Other things that Delhi Govt is taking up on priority affects fewer people and can be on lower priority. Similarly sustained campaign of education on cleanliness and then punitive action after some time is needed. The operative word is sustained. We have to follow it for at least one year to make everyone of the millions living in cities conscious and practiced in good housekeeping. Especially in schools this should be a separate subject. In Japan the first 6 months or so after children join school they have to help in cleaning the school. That is how good practices are inculcated. Not by just mouthing some words and VIPs sweeping the roads for photo ops. more
We are a 'BAN' society. Once we ban something we banish it from our minds. In our society once out of mind is gone. more
Garbage clearance in Noida is anyway absymal. Sector 15, 16, 16 A areas - where most IT and media-related offices are - are littered with uncleared garbage, dominated of course by polythene, with stray cows and dogs making mess of things on any day. No one cares! The areas are visited by a lot of foreign visitors who view such unsanitary conditions with shock and disgust. Areas around Sector 15 Metro station is full of filth and looks like a slum. Traffic around these areas is chaotic at all times with policemen rarely seen. Since these areas are in many ways gateway to Noida and UP, it presents a very poor picture of the state's governance to outsiders from Delhi - and elsewhere! more
