I want to know whom to contact in the case of people chopping of trees and the local authorities doing nothing about. Thank you more

Very good question Rohini and it also shows how much concerned atleast a few people get on cutting trees. Forest department is the right department and officially one needs to obtain their permission to cut tree. In Faridabad, Forest department also distributes tree tress for plantation especially during rainy months. more  
Municipal corporation in citiy is custodian of Tree preservation and greenery of citiy. Other agencies are associate members of municipalities . more  
Environment minister of the Delhi government. But I'm not sure whether Delhi has a government. more  
Sir, Delhi is a state n has elected State Govt. more  
You can contact local forest department.. or local police also, this is a cognizable offence.. it's better you form a local volunteer group to raise your voice and make it heard.. more  
Contact your city's director of parks n garden as well as the forest depts. more
