The present government seems to be on track as the PM talked about toilets in his idependence day speech. We must talk cleanliness, beautification and a litterfree India to keep the country clean and beautiful.Unless the media keeps harping on these civil behaviours, there will be lack of communication. The government, the muncipal corporations, the corporates and sundry must take up innovative projects which can reward clealniness, acknowledge cleanliness and publicise beautification.I am sure our present PM will make India a a more beautiful place! more

Sensitizing school children and road shows will be implantable long term strategy. But to begin with, the drive should be both education as well as penalizing the offenders. Unfortunately, our country does not improve only with reforms. Indians going abroad and working there become very sensitive to cleanliness due to fear of getting penalized if doing otherwise and the same Indians as soon as they land in India do not think even a second before opening the car window to throw out the kachra. more
We need to sensitize the school children so that the next generation is aware and has sense of hygiene. They become the torch bearers and in turn sensitize the elders in the home. This method has been successful in various parts of the country. As for the general public, we need to have road shows, maybe involve celebrities to contribute to awareness campaigns and display the advantages of clean surroundings.everything said and done this requires huge public participation more
I agree with sengupta one like to clean .... But you may agree ..we have to clean.... How to achieve .........please elaborate achievable methodologies more
I think Leaders can show directions and it is up to us to implement. The best way is to start the cleanness drive from our home and then extending to our surroundings. I was pained today to see during the morning walk that after the light drizzle the roads were flooded as the plastic bags and kachra littered had chocked the rain water drains.
I always carry my reusable bag irrespective of fact that the shop keepers provide plastic bag or not.
Collectively, citizens can make clean Bharat by being sensitive to our surroundings while Govt need to bring laws to punish the offenders. Metro rails are wonderful example of determination and fining the offenders. more
