worst rly station in the south. all goods are dumped on the platform by rly.staff.you have to jump over the parcels.smell is unberable

1) As one enters Chennai, a stench greets you. The drains in and around the station should be cleaned on on-going basis.
2) Large quantities of luggage/goods are dumped at the entrance of platform 5 which makes it difficult for passengers to move in/out the station.
3) Coolies are unruly and enter the running train as soon it enters the platform. They quote exorbitant rates to move the luggage.
4) North Indian passengers are fleeced by the coolies.
5) Self service trolleys are not provided at the station.
6) Water is not available at the platforms on many occasions forcing everyone to purchase Bisleri and other bottled water. Fans installed at platform are many times dis-functional.
7) Proper facility for prepaid taxis is not available. Passengers are approached and heckled by the taxi drivers quoting high and unreasonable rates.
8) Due to shortage of space, many passengers are forced to sit on the floor of the station's waiting area.

This is a world number 1 ugly place, there is no space to walk to compartment in the entrance of each platform due to keeping all the good unloaded on the platform itself.
