What do you like about Indian Railways

Dear Railway Circle Members:

While we will continue to seek your inputs on various aspects of improvement of Railways and incorporate them as much as possible into actions and initiatives, today we ask you a simple question.

What is that you like about Indian Railways?

Do respond please . While the inputs on areas of improvement and solutions are very valuable, we would also like to know what is working and what are citizens happy with.

Just for everyone's information, Indian Railways (IR) is one of world's largest railway networks comprising 115,000 km (71,000 mi) of track and 7,172 stations. In 2013–14, IR carried 8.425 billion passengers annually or more than 23 million passengers daily and 1050.18 million tons of freight.

We look forward to your inputs!

while allotting seats for senior citizens the staff concerned should have in mind that the seats allotted for them must be lower and when there is no alternate they must maximum allot middle seat. At no cost they should allot upper birth. I am also a senior citizen and in my case many times i have been allotted upper birth and how i was very comfortable while travelling i cannot put the sufferings in words. more
Quota for Senior Citizens should be increased. How many seats/berths are available should be shown in the web site before making booking. At the time of preparation of chart the balance in the quota can be allotted to the rac/waitlisted passengers. more
Railways is as asset for the Nation, we are proud of its existence. We need honest, devoted and hard working staff to look after. Make journey cheerful for the passengers by introducing good and pleasing comforts. Take care of existing facilities. Reply to Circle promptly. more
The railway holds very pleasant memories for me from my childhood days. I prefer rail travel to any other mode of travel. It is also the cheapest mode at present. Only I wish the railways would pay more attention to clean toilets and punctuality. more
The railway is the biggest travelling and transportation system in India . It should be perfect; most advance and and most convenient to every citizen/passenger more
