Apart from minimizing the usage there are umpteen methods to re-use the used water and what is needed is educating the unorganized sector house-maids and some house wives who are either illiterate of less literate on the subject. My friend late KN Shenoy has asked his house maid to preserve the cloth-washed water (he does not have washing machine or use it) in plastic buckets and use it for watering the potted plants in his garden including banana-trees. the Aqua treated water used for cleaning vessels could collected in buckets and re- used for watering the potted plants outside. Good idea. But more aggressive steps like tree plantation, desilting of ponds and lakes to increase rain fall are needed. NGOs like Rotary and Lines clubs must be encouraged to take up these projects. I am a Rotarian. I am interested in the above projects. I had desilted three ponds with the assistance of Rotary clubs during 2018-19 near Kumbakonam. But we find lot of problems in getting permission from Government. We don't expect money from Government. I think an initiative must come from High court . It can advise Govt to negotiate with NGOs.I am ready to donate Rs 25,000.00 each for three Rotary clubs in Nagapattinam, cuddalore ,and Thanjavur Dts provided they contribute at least equal amount for the project. Very appropriate post madam for us in Chennai . Kindly add this point also . We just the 2 of us recycle about 25 to 30 liters of water that had to be thrown off after culling out good water . I think the company technicians should be consciendized about this and they should play a role as "Corporate Responsibility" . This is used for washing vessels and for the very few indoor plants . more

Excellent suggestion sir . Particularly "go to the place where the water is kept, fill the cup and drink it there itself " - That will give them good health , no neck , low back , shoulder pains . A good relief from stereo typed operation for long hours . - Corporates and I.T.cos should be grateful to you for this idea which no one has dared to . more
