Unruly neighbor
Is there any rule or law or by-law to prosecute or penalize an unruly neighbor who has been disturbing my peace for the past several years by creating all kind of noises on my ceiling, the other side of which happens to be his floor? I have made all kinds of requests to the society members as well as the culprit himself but to no heed. Irrespective of the timing there's some civil work or the other happening round the year. This down to earth family of four have most of their activities on the floor and their weights are felt as they stomp all over the house.
Sharing my problems, angst or frustration on this platform is becoming an obsession as I found quite a few pragmatic, valid, learned and concerned responses to my earlier posts.

You lodge a complain to the district magistrate copy to city S.P. and pollution control department for the sound pollution. Now a days approximately 75% neighbors are these type . more

Thanks... Mr. Rajiv Prasad's post sums-up the suggestions.... certainly in a NON-VIOLENT approach.... One can handle such issues assessing all aspects on case to case to basis.... more

All above matters/problems referred it is taken as granted that Opponent is so helpless that one can impose any thing on them. Time and again - advisable to resist the tolerances, Multi-fold course of actions, Criminal, Civil, Co-operative, Administrative, Consumer forum, private complaint etc. Also advisable to opt for ALL or maximum possible. I do accept it is going to cost your time, money, efforts along with mental agony ad physical Stress. But everything has it's own cost. more
