Double all major routes, increase average speed to atleast 100km/hr. Divide trains into short, medium & long distance trains. Short distance trains (every hour between alternate junctions)are like passengers with a considerable increase in speed, so that all the intermediate stations are covered. Medium distance (day trains within 1000km) - identify major routes and run trains every hour. Long distance (night trains - more than 1000km) connecting major cities across the country. If financial situation permits, they can go for bullet trains in a phased manner. The present infrastructure could be used for short distance trains & medium distance trains. DFC is being implemented at various stages which will clear the goods traffic out of the present tracks. Lot of planning & funding is required. more

How could a Rly official make money by allotting more bogeys to trains at the request of Travel Agents? When WL is increasing, Rlys can attach more bogeys that are feasible & being done against bribe! more

Ratio of Travelers vs availability of seats at train is very poor. Which ruined all the services provided by Indian railways. Increase in seat availability by effective management of train schedule, frequency, and number of coaches will improve the service. more
