"HC reprieve for IAS officer ‘framed’ by Bihar police
The Delhi high court on Tuesday compensated a Bihar-cadre IAS officer, who was slapped with false cases after he took on the transport mafia, and allowed him a change of cadre. The HC slammed the Bihar government for “humiliating, harassing and victimising” the officer and directed it to pay Rs 5 lakh to him.
A bench of justices Vipin Sanghi and Jyoti Singh also ordered the central government to immediately start the process for inter-cadre transfer of 2013-batch IAS officer Jitendra Gupta, so that he is shifted out of Bihar where he faces threats to his life. The process must be completed within four weeks, the bench said."
Honest IAS officers are targeted by their political bosses all over India. Let us hope that Bihar government will investigate who ordered the police to frame the IAS officer and punish him to set an example.
Perhaps Local Circles can compile similar cases from all States and UTs and present the same to Modi 2.0 government for eradication of this type of corruption. more
