TAMIL TV AND POLITICIANS POLLUTE TAMIL NADU
Politicians belonging to various political parties in Tamil Nadu are abusing each other and many of them including ministers are making very objectionable statements.
Tamil TV media is going to great length to give maximum publicity to these politicians and discussing about their obnoxious activities in the television debates.
It appears that the politicians and journalists in Tamil Nadu have all the time in the world to discuss such matters threadbare. In addition to TV debates and political news most of the time, TV media are also organizing special discussions on such political issues in different places in Tamil Nadu where the politicians of all sorts are the key speakers and which are telecast.
One wonders whether these politicians, journalists and TV anchors should guide the course of events in the state.
There are large number of knowledgeable and competent people in Tamil Nadu and they are not in politics or journalism. There is no way that voice of wisdom of such persons could be heard.
No doubt, politicians and Tamil TV media are polluting the thought process in the state and making one think as to whether Tamil Nadu has only so much of intellectual capabilities.

Couldn't agree more. The media has a larger role to play since it helps in keeping politicians in the limelight. Free Press MUST be combined with responsibility and accountability for actions. Look at Nakkeeran Gopal's treatment by the judiciary yesterday. His writings (rantings) cater to the basest level and he gets away with whatever poison he spews through his columns. Impose adequate checks on the fourth estate. ASAP. more

Politicians squeeze the middle class by raising price and give to the corporate allies to store abroad. It is like the lizard sheds it's tail while it feasts by running around. The severed tail is the Tamilnadu TV debate which seems lively but only diversion for political swindling. People are fed with Religious/Language/ caste differences to fight for when people forget their basic need for life like water dams, roads.petrol,electricity,food,public toilets etc and take up issues like Ram or Sam or some name to fight. more

One more group of people who are are churning the political muddle is to be added and they from the film field. They have pots of money and find a very useful platform in the debate sessions to promote their image leading to making the movies in which they are cast become great hits.
