Stop Charging of excess GST

Many retailers esp, lifestyle, pantaloon, shopper stop charge GST above MRP when products have a discount. This is illegal. We have filed a petition on the subject. If enough people sign and Govt makes this illegal, all of us will save money.

I think we need to actively support to stem this trend to add GST to the MRP more
It is being observed that even NEFT transaction is also being charged GST. Recently I transfered Rs 15000/ they charged Rs 5 for transaction and Rs 1.00 as GST more
Yes I also support your cause more
Dear Sarita Can you share a copy of bill? more
taxes are always charged on the product value price, and the discount is that part of the price that the seller is willing to offload to the customer as benefit! so really it might be debatable if the taxes should be levied on the initial MRP or recalculated on the discounted price.....it does seem fair that the taxes should be levied on the discounted new price so that the customer reaps the extra benefit of the tax also apart from the savings on the lower price! And since the value or price of the goods are only (x-discount) now, the govt. should be easy realizing their tax on the 'actual value' of the product transferred to or realized by the customer! and this only needs a system fix for the way the price(as per the discount rate....)is calculated when the shop affords a discount!! more
