The structural safety of the Metro line must be checked becaus3em prolonged exposure to high heat can adversely affect the concrete. more
Not only Delhi almost most of the metros have been spoiled by politician and their crony for their personal gain. They are least bother about the safety of the pedestrian. Infact foot path has become most lucrative place to run the most profitable business like eateries, veg/fruit business, chicken and fish shop. Municipalities and local politician are hand in gloves and have allowed even to have temp structure to such vendors. Unless strict action is taken , the poor state of roads and footpath is most unlikely to improve. more
Encroachment of footpaths and public spaces in Delhi and elsewhere is a huge problem exposing people to unsafe, even life threatening situations and is not being addressed effectively. Pedestrians are forced to walk on the roads in midst of speeding and uncaring vehicles. Older people are more vulnerable. I have seen Corporation trucks coming once in a while but the squatters get information in advance, temporarily shift their goods and within hours it's same scenario again. Stricter implementation of relevant laws may be necessary. more
