SHOULD WE SEND SUGGESTIONS TO TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT ?

There are many knowledgeable and experienced people in the field of science , technology and administration in Tamil Nadu with constructive ideas.

Seeing the quality of administration in the state and the knowledge level of MLAs and ministers, the well informed citizens send suggestions to the government on various subjects, hoping that they would be carefully studied and considered for the betterment of the state.

However, when suggestions are sent to the Chief Minister, generally a post card is received by way of acknowledgement from CM cell after several weeks. Then, the letter is sent to concerned department . After several months, a routine and vague reply is received and there would end the matter.

Recently, when some suggestions were sent to the government by an experienced and well informed person about the plight of fire works units in Sivakasi region and to improve the conditions , a reply was received after a few months from a staff in District Industries Centre that the suggestion concerns policy decision of the government. Obviously, the suggestion has gone into dustbin.

No minister or senior bureaucrats seem to be reading such communications. Should we call it indifference ?

Unfortunately ,All staff in the Government and the opposition parties are having enormous black money to spend in election. There is no political will and always afraid of fringe groups who have enormous money power. lack of knowledge in Tamil and English and to retain power is is the first concern of our Government.Fear to retain in Power. Third one is rivalry among the parties. But it all began with the Congress in Center and D.M.K in Tamilnadu. The corruption rule was followed by ADMK meticulously and for the past 50 years . This reminds me the poem " WALRUS AND CARPENTER" BY Lewis Carroll(1871)still enacting in India with special reference to Tamilnadu. WALRUS =D.M.K. CARPENTER =A.D.M.K OYSTERS = PEOPLE OF TAMIL NADU The big question now is " Who is going to save these OYSTERS "? Answer is "Will Power of OYSTERS to choose best and honest candidate from a good party who have no nexus with gundas/rowdies and have iron will to put them down without any discrimination of caste and creed, whether rich or poor, whether abled or disabled persons in the coming Parliamentary elections. A dream?Hope this dream will come true, since we find a ray of hope in some leaders of a political party. more
Don't blame the Govt - we vote the same set of people - both at the State and Centre. more
Giving any suggestion to our Govt. - any - in general is a totally avoidable waste of time. The responsibility for this is not just with the minister but IAS's as well as they think thought know everything and any suggestion from any citizen is inferior to what they can come out with in any field. The state of administration in the country today is the result of these best brains but with rigid and closed mind. They seem to take any suggestion as a reflection of their failure and so use their intelligence to thwart the suggestion from reaching the politician even. How can anyone else except the bureaucrats come out with any suggestion whatsoever in any field? Unless IAS's think they are also normal human beings with all the weaknesses that any human can have, they cannot contribute anything to the common citizen of India. They misuse their authority to ensure no suggestion reaches the politician, not to care and delay even acknowledgement, act as if nothing has reached them even after several reminders and several acknowledgment from their own offices, and even if they get to the stage of considering the suggestion, an arrogant refusal of the problem and therefore suggestion is the result. Of course like there is exception to any rule, there are exceptions to this creed of bureaucrats - I am yet to see more than 3 or 4 of them in my life of 77 years. It is time we find alternatives to serve the people of this nation ignoring the presence of bureaucrats. Let us produce results through the alternative routes and make them come to us rather than our going to them with our suggestion. more
When I was in job CG will impart training to officers and in one such training a debate paper with late Sri. C. subramaniam will always be discussed. The debate was new IAS officers VS old IAS officers. Sri. C. Subramaniam observed that majority of the new breed of IAS officers blindly connive with the ministers' orders whereas old IAS officers were advisers to ministers for doing right thing. The administrative powers are with the IAS officers only and they are jack of all trades and master of none but have the capacity to control everything as the politicians. The seat of power with the present system of administration will make every one corrupt and with power they need not listen to your advice. With all said and done there are few talented in every field and the system is rolling because of them. more
I very much appreciate you for your novel idea. Due to politics cum corruption I do not think the govt. will welcome our ideas. The corruption should end in a peaceful manner with everybody's support then frank ideas constructive will find a place. I am a senior citizen 80 yrs. I do want to give free service but there is no avenue. more
