Mr. Sivaramakrishnan, there have been several complaint about IRCTC booking site and the service in complying with choice of passengers. Beside you , many many have raised this issue , in either offing berths of choice or seats. In your case 700 plus seats available. So I am adding one more as a complaint to wait and see if any remedy . The other aspects are : * If wait listed status is the position there IRCTC Should not SHOULD NOT FLASH "BOOK NOW " . This misleads the passenger by giving hope that there is a definite chance to get confirmed. #Don't collect money for wait listed tickets. When the position gets cleared send an SMS , so that the passenger can pay then and collect the tiicket. * IRCTC should flash "Choice not available " when it is not able to offer the choice of the passenger. Then only go on to book and pay . Once money is paid and the choice is refused without intimation, what is the next step ? #FREE CANCELLATION OF TICKETS WITHOUT ANY FEE BY IRCTC FOR SUCH . * The most important one is the privilege of the early birds [that is the passengers booking tickets well in advance] are not taken care of . In a reserved sitting compartment the entry should be only for the passengers with valid tickets . # T.T.E's should be in the compartment or in front of the compartments at least 20 minutes before the departure to see that unauthorized don't get into the compartments ; allotting seats / berths should be over before the train leaves. THIS WILL ALSO PREVENT T.T.E CORRUPTION AND THE NEXUS , BESIDES RENDERING HIS PART OF SERVICE TO THE PASSENGER. JAI HIND. more
