Regarding to new waiting ticket holder rule
I read in the News-paper that the waiting ticket holder now treated as ticketless and fined as per the extended Railway Rule, if they find in reserved coaches. They can either cancel their ticket within half hour of schedule departure of train or go by Unreserved General coach.

But please give them Partial Cancellation for Unreservation (PCU) facility in such case. According to this, give refund by deduction of same fare of unreserved class plus Rs.30 and issue them partial cancel slip. The passenger has to go to Unreserved Ticket Window having the same rout unreserved ticket by just showing this slip. more

Long distance traveler needs to reach its destination in allotted time of journey. Provide them alternate option of travel within same time frame or little more. We have largest chain of rail route in World. Can't we have such option. Inform passenger that they have to change 2 times or 3 times in entire journey, but they will reach on destination at mentioned time frame or so. Cancelling tickets will not stop them from traveling. As they are in need to reach their destination. more
