Announce system is very loose train come to station but anoncer say train after some time come to plate form more

!. All display boards (Train info) in the station must have clock showing the railway time or the time railways follow. 2. Trains/plot forms are announced about 10 to 15 minutes before only at originating stations.It causes lot of rush in short time. May be this is to reduce unnecessary crowding at the plat form but causes trouble to senor citizens and people with luggage. There can be other ways reduce the crowd. 3. Some time back waiting at Madurai station to take evening passenger train to Rameswaram. The display board did not show the train . We do not know what to do. About 15 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train we inquired at inquiry counter. They said the train is ready to depart from plot form no 4(?). We had tough time with aged mother and luggage to reach the train. Why they have not displayed the details of train is not understood. Regular commuters may know. Rameswaram is pilgrimage center and many new people visit. more

I agree with the views expressed by Shri. Ashwani Chugh . I am a frequent traveller by Railways from Kalyan Junction near Mumbai . The Train Display system as well as the announcement system is so pathetic that it causes immense hardship to the passengers with luggage and more specifically to the senior citizens and passengers with disabilities . The concerned station manager is just not bothered to listen to your complaints about such an apathy . They simply say that they are helpless . Then whom are we supposed to approach and lodge our griviences ? They don't even provide you with a complaint register for expressing your views ??? more

Regarding Rly announcement etc there require lot many improvements , in terms of quality, clarity and correctness. Main issue with Railways is that there is no fixing of responsibility. Probably for big issues , officers may be suspended. But small issues there is nobody whom you can approach. For example recently in Pune Railways station, there was no announcement/ no display about a particular train. When this has been brought to the notice of inquiry counter fellow, he says ( shouts) that you go and complain to station master. But at station master room, most of the places you can see that , this is not inquiry room, means don't enter here. More over they are busy with scheduling of train etc. Only point of contact is inquiry counter fellow. When most of the public complained, it was updated in the system .Even though this may appears small isssue, for the public it is big thing , as particular train arrival or departure is missing . Here point to be noted that , there is no complaint system and no punishment for irresponsible action/person. If such complaint systems are implemented only , system will improve, otherwise spending money for reforms is waste only. more
