@Ratan Poddar ji, Just try and imagine how airlines may be dealing with subject with several flights doing over 6 hrs at one go. It is all very possible and easy provided the will to improve exists and experts are entrusted the task. more

Carrying food in the train for so many passengers is a tough call for running caterers. Catering through a running train is a luxury and should be limited. Space, storage cooking and serving is a major problem. subsequently quantity and quality takes a hit We should encourage in station catering. Catering between stations. This will increase small business through out railway network There can be branded food outlet chains served by major hotel/ catering groups. Amul has started. ---Thank you. Ratan more

It is right that the food needs a change. We travelled last week on Duronto Express from Bangalore to Howrah. During the journey 2 lunches and 1 dinner are served. At all 3 meals the menu is identical. Could a different item not be included? Regarding hygiene, the pillows given to us were dirty and some had strands of hair on them. On requesting the coach attendant for fresh cases. we were told that they are issued only one set which is used for the outward journey from Howrah to Bangalore and re-used for the return from Bangalore to Howrah. We were also given blankets that were rather smelly. So it seems we will have go back to the system of carrying a holdall with our own bedding! The reason we pay extra and travel by trains like Duronto and Rajdhani is to avoid having to carry bedding and food on the journey. I would like to mention that my husband and I are senior citizens so try to travel light. more

Tomorrow someone may go on to suggest, we carry bed-holldall from home because the sheets, pillows and blankets on train are seldom clean. There is no end to retraction while the world moves forward. The right approach is use expertise in coach planning, logistics planning and design for catering services on trains. The initiation takers are missed while professionals are both available and willing to take the call for improvement. more
