The biggest safety issue with Railways is that the station premises is not secured from unauthorized intruders, unlike an airport. This allowes robbers, beggars and drugg addicts to use various station platforms and even stationery trains as their hiding places and after sunset various stations become notorious for illegal activities.....and these people attack train passengers and those waiting in railway stations as there is very little security at most of the raiway stations across the country. more
CCTV Camera Installation inside the Trains should be done to have the exact security scenario of the trains. This will also ensure the tracking of the thieves, terrorists, any critical incident, emergency situation. And we should publicize very hard about the CCTV installation inside the trains which will automatically create a fear among all the wrong doing peoples.. This can also be used as a tracking instrument for Railway Cleanliness and railway staff's duty. more
Point No 6 is very serious. Why should people without ticket enter platforms. Ticket checkers instead of checking passengers coming out of the trains, should check while they are entering the platform. This will reduce unauthorised passenger entry. more
The biggest worry these days is the safety in trains.....it looks like the current system of RPF is a complete failiure......since RPF is railway employees, there is little urgency or responsibility on them to protect the passengers or their valuables....most of the thefts are happening in night when trains slows down at some points or waits for crossing regulary at same spot......the robbers know of these exact points and the times or trains and are able to execute their robberies perfectly...some how we must ensure that every one who gets into a compartment has valid booking and seat allotment in that compartment only and all compartments must have automatic door locking system so people cannot get into the compartment when train slows down or stops at crossing points....each train's security must be headed by a seniour officer present in the train and he should be made responsible for saferty and security of all passengers in that train.......fixing responsibility on RPF is an essential part in improving safety of passengers.. more
