This is just one of the so many experiences I felt . On friday 31st I traveled by the Kovai Express to Salem from chennai by Non A/C seat . I reached the station just before the departure . My seat was occupied , and when told the gentle man vacated the seat for me . At Chennai there were not many standing on the corridor or passage , as the TTE hadn't made his rounds .
Then started the crowds at Katpadi, and Jolarpet into the reserved compartment . The crowd standing are either waitlisted tickets or unreserved ones. We hardly find a place move to the toilets . Even to stand and have the snacks on the passage as the 2 S seats are crammed.
This is the situation on a weekday non peak season . Imagine the situation during peak holiday season on week ends .
There have been several complaints even in the Sleeper coaches.

TTEs should stand at the entrance of each set of coaches, check the tickets and only then allow passengers with valid tickets to get in. more

The same is the story in respect of Bangalore-Chennai Day Express that leaves Bangalore City Station around 8 am. I can say it is more worst. The irony is the ticket checker will come to the passenger who has reserved the seat, check it and and will go to another passenger unmindful of unreserved ticket holders who squeeze themselves in reserved seats. Such is the state of affairs in that train. The bloody higher railway officials should travel in that train second sitting coaches to have a taste of the journey. more

During Daytime travel of Inter City Express trains in our country, this is very common in the past decade itself, which has multiplied manifold now. Coupled with the high variation between Express Bus Fare and 2S Train Fare, reserved passengers have to put up with this, in Inter City Day time Express trains. Once a TTE on being informed of this, replied to complaining passengers that seldom this leads to Law and Order issues itself, if unreserved passengers with bonafide tickets are detrained forcefully from reserved compartments. Only a semblance of order is seen in reserved compartments of Trains involving Night Travel, that too confined to Southern States only, elsewhere this is a nightmare in some states. As almost all trains are running with maximum capacity of 24 coaches that can be accommodated in major railway station platforms, additional coaches is also remote. We passengers have to bear with this out of no choice. more

The same thing happens in BRINDAVAN and LAL BAG express trains to BENGALURU. The TTEs are silent witnesse to all the sufferings undergone by reserved passengers more
