Non refund of security money by PG hostel company Coho
Hi I have put my daughters in OG hostel at DU north campus vijay nagar the company name is Coho .Being a girls hostel thry have promised me good food and security for my daughters .The monthly rental of Rs 18000 I was paying for both of my daughters ie 36000 .Also I had deposited 2 monyhs advance as a security drposit is total 72000 .After 1 month only the standard of food was pathetic and time and again we have been informong Coho management for the ssme but no improvements was shown .They were giving packet milk with expired date to the inmates of the hostel which was caught by the girls and reported .The caretaker lady was involved in this .Not only this at times men were given entry to the hostel room and they were staying overnight which was a serios issue and hostel warden was involved in this .seeing this I withdrew both of my daughters from the hostel giving 20 days advance notice .Now I wanted my securitu money back which they r refusing and saying that the lock in period was of 11 months .I have paid the monthly rent regularly. So pl advise how can I get my money back since because of security and safety issue of my daughters I have to leave the PG in 3 months. I want my 72000 back so someone pl advise more

All business people become rascals when it comes to admitting their mistakes and settling the case amicably. That is why I have filed and won 20 cases in the district consumer forum against several businesses !! I suggest you file a case in the District Consumer Forum for refund with 12% interest. Also complain to FSSAI for supplying expired milk to the girls.But you ought to have kept the milk sachet. Do not spare these cheats. more

Proceed to lodge a General Diary with the Local Police Station immediately, and thereafter to the local Consumer Protection Court. I am sure , you will get full relief, with interest and damages more

You & all others should inquire thoroughly about that PG Accommodation well before putting your child and that too from local police station also. Regarding refund of security, you have to knock the door of law because such establishment will not refund the money easily. However everything can be solved smoothly if you have a strong political connection. more

You can perhaps tell the Hostel that you will have to seek legal remedies, in case your just request is not favourably responded. more

Write a letter to them regarding the deficiencies in their services and the reason for withdrawal of your daughters from the hostel. wait for a month for their reply. If it does not come file a case with Consumer Court for the deficiency in the services. Claim up to 20 Lacs can be filed in District Consumer Court. more
