Model of ordinary non-suburban passenger coach needs drastic change

The ordinary II class passenger coach that has 4+1 seating arrangement in one row has some flaws:
(1) The width of seat is too big to comfortably lean upon the back rest. It should be reduced by about 4".
(2) The seats are facing each other. When passengers are less and front seat is lying vacant, a good number of passengers are having habit of keeping their feet on the front seat making it unclean. This culture may be stopped if seats are placed facing one side only.
(3) They also lie down on 4-seaters, its size being very suitable for a person to sleep. So seats may be changed from 4+1 to 3+3.
(4) Some passengers have also habit of climbing up to sleep on the upper bunk along with their pair of shoes/chappals, that is meant to keep luggages, when it is vacant. These bunks may be made slanting with parallel metal rods to support luggage.
I would request railway competent authority personnel to ride an ordinary passenger train from Sealdah(SDAH) to Lalgola (LGL) on any day and feel the above situations. more

The Re-design . If any one was watching TV News Channel "IBN 7" at 21.13 hrs on 24.12.14 , while showing visit to Assam of Hon'ble Home Minister Sh Rajnath Singh Sahib. The name caption strip writes in Hindi " RAJNASH SINGH GRIH MANTRI". It was later withdrawn. more
agreed ....but the design is done keeping in mind the distance it covers ....for a shorter run coaches needs to redesign reducing the seat width and the distance between facing two seats more
You are very right, Mr. Das. Attention should be paid to the small titbits of cleanliness while travelling by the train. That would be implementation of Swachta in India in the true sense. more
