Medical facilities at all railway stations....

While traveling from Bangalore to Jhansi, i never see a sigle railway station which has "Medical shop" on station (Just an example). In case of any emergency the passanger is helpless either it is a mild fever to the kid or any urgent medicine requirement to the elders. May be the railway has arranged some kind of first aid but it is always very difficult to a layman to reach it and it might not have all prescription drugs. If we can have pepsi-cola shops on all stations then why not the medical shops. may be railway can give some tax benefits to these outlets same like Jan-Aushadhi concept in Rajasthan. more

This is a very good experience and I felt the need of some medicines during long railway journey.Railway should see there must be at least one medicine shop in all stations where there is provision of halt of express trains more
Yes I agee with Mr. Satyam. Infact when a population of the size of Australia is at any given time travelling by Indian Railways, something should be done to take care of its medical requirement. more
Good suggestion. I have already found that some stations already have medicine shops. This should be implemented in all stations of importance. All other stations should have first aid boxes. Additionally, a coup in one of the train coaches which is situated in the middle of the train, can be converted into a mobile pharmacy. Also, doctors should be available in all major stations. Not nurses. In one recent incidence, when a doctor was requisitioned, a nurse was made available after 3 stations had passed-by. more
I also suffered because I have not taken my sugar tablets. common medicines may be sold in main junctions . K.K.SHUNMUKHUM more
