Make railway and railway staffs better

This is to bring to your notice that Railway Staffs of Indian Railway have a tendency to trouble female passenger.
I am traveling from Haridwar to Howrah by train number 13010, PNR no: 2332435913.

Please make your railway and railway staffs better. more

Ok, many of our learned members have expressed their experience/views on the subject but what the exact nature of the complaint Ms Debolina Mukherjee had against the Railways is nowhere clarified! more
Nothing justifies tendency to trouble female passengers. However, another facet of the dynamics being that if the affluent travel more by trains, railways will also improve, for travellers will seek clean, hygienic and more pleasant conditions, even paying a premium thereon, that would make economic viability to improve hygiene standards, thereby attracting more passengers justifying the same. more
I do not agree to the views expressed by honourable M/s Sankaranarayanan and P. Dipak. I am an International Traveller occasionally. The International scenario, sentiments, sensitiveness etc is very brittle and very crucial for India with our many problems ,faced by us as a Nation-- internal, external and trans-border. We ,to survive and overcome / win over some of these situations, have to be very cautious about our conduct and attitude in all steps of public life. Railway is truly a lifeline in our lives. We should not think and act that "OK. It has happened to one Lady. Ah,it will not happen to MY OWN /or my friend's/or relative's daughter/wife/niece etc etc.". When it happens to your own what will do then? Please think over. I have read quite a few incidents in Indian Railways. Even once a lady passenger travelling alone in a reserved compartment had faced a very gruelling situation. She saved herself ,not by appealwhich did not work, but by tweeting to the Railway Minister and thereby the culprit was arrested in the next station. If it happens also to any Foreigner Lady in the reserved compartment of a train in the night, can you think of the consequences it will result in International Level? Repeated incidents with Indian Lady travellers has not corrected the situation. Because the Railways have dismissed these / have not permanently any corrective penal and strong actions ( like removing from the job, publicly advertising their photos and forfeiting their all benefits like salary from that day and all benefits earned/accumulated) which will send a strong messages among the employees/attendants/ security forces etc. In the next Railway Budget Railway Minister MUST ANNOUNCE what actions are being taken to STOP this and what punitive measures are going to be taken if this happens. The Contractors and sub-contactors also must be strictly dealt with so that they are cautious to employ any Dick and Harry. more
Seldom is heed paid to feedback. Then the railways keep passing the buck. Railways have many accountability gaps. They put the onus of proof on passenger. Complaint may also be forwarded to railway official or authority, with identifiable specifics that they can act upon. Hope situation improves since this remains India most environmentally friendly and highly connected transportation option. more
Whenever a complaint is lodged to an authority, the complainant should be informed of the end result of his complaint. Even when an FIR is registered including at Railway P.S.in cases like pick pocketing, theft etc. complainant remains in dark about the final outcome of his report unless the case is taken up in the court. more
Before raising the issue here, Mr. Mukherjee must have lodged a complaint with Railways first. Had it not yielded result, approaching this forum is sensible. more
