Maintaining cleanliness of coaches

We see that most coaches have some problems or the other. I would suggest the following measures
1) Pest control activity done every month
2) Plumbing issues - Addressed immediately
3) Cleaning of Windows - every day
4) Cleaning of floor in Coaches - Twice a day
5) External cleaning coaches - every 4 weeks
6) Doors to be closed after cleaning until 30 min before train departure
7) Electrical checks - every month
8) Air fresheners - sprayed once every day

Hopefully this will help in maintaining the coaches clean and tidy. more

1. Place enough dustbins and make arrangements to clear them at every station 2. Play effective Videos or Audios - about the provision provided in order to maintain the railways clean. 3. Should not allow the coaches to be used as public toilets - it happens in Chennai Central (I feel ashamed of writing this - but I have to write it) and the entire platform stinks - especially early in the morning if you have to get down from a train and head towards the taxi stand you could see piles of human excretes lying in the track below the platform (Oh GOD) ....After all cleaning this entire mess is also done by a human being - just think of his feelings and self respect (I personally feel - it is a punishment being employed as a class 3 or 4 employee - where he is forced to witness this mess everyday) more
I do agree Mr.Kartik's comments in addition to that most of the window's rubber lining are worn out necessary action to be taken. to Keep coaches clean it is not only Railways responsibility, passengers are to be educated to handle properly and keep neat. more
I HAVE STOPPED TRAVELLING IN THREE-TIER SLEEPER OR AC-3 MAINLY DUE TO LACK OF CLEANLINESS OF TOILETS AND BOGIES. BUT SADLY CONDITIONS OF AC-2 ARE NO MUCH BETTER. DURING MY RECENT TRAVEL BY THE BRAMHPUTRA MAIL FROM ALLAHABAD TO PATNA ON 2ND OCT. 2014, THE AC-2 BOGIE THROUGHOUT MY JOURNEY RAN WITHOUT WATER EVEN THOUGH IT HAD STOPPED FOR A GOOD TIME AT MUGHAL SARAI. JUST IMAGINE THE ORDEAL OF PASSENGERS WHO TRAVELLED FURTHER. more
