Like NEET, Why not MEET & PEET for State Assembly and General Elections????

We all know that NEET (National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test) examination is a must for admission to Medical Courses. A student’s + 2 scores are reduced to NEET Eligibility criteria only.
So a student, irrespective of his/her best performance in +2, has to score good marks in NEET to get admission into Government/Premier Colleges.
The main purpose of conducting entrance exam is to judge the student’s ability, sharpness, knowledge, etc. Fair enough.
Similar to NEET Examination, why not judge a politician’s ability, knowledge, integrity, etc through an examination????
Further if you look at the Minimum Qualification Criteria for an MLA & MP, it is just the age:
MLA - “Not less than 25 years of age to be a member of the Legislative Assembly”.
MP- “Not less than 30 years of age in the case of Rajya Sabha and not less than 25 years of age in the case of Lok Sabha”.
Of course, this is as per Constitution and no arguments…….
These people are the Law Makers and also potential Law Breakers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, the current political arena doesn't provide any scope for the educated and honest people to serve our Country.
Is it not time to reverse this situation?????????? When the Earth itself is not static, what stops the Government from changing the Election process????
Why not the Central Government make the below tests mandatory:
1) MEET (MLA Eligibility cum Entrance Test) Examination for State Assembly Elections

2) PEET (Parliamentarian Eligibility cum Entrance Test) Examination for Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Elections

Set a minimum vote percentage for the contestant to become eligible to take the test.
Declare the 1st rank holder in each constituency as an elected representative (on merit basis).
In my view, even a 1% filtration of filth would be a deserving change for the common man.
Request LC to take it up with the Highest Authority in the Government. more

The constitution is quite outdated and out of tune with our times, it was probably written under strong British influence too in those days, so it needs a strong revisiting, probably a total revamp. When just to study MBBS/MD/Engg., we have so many entrance exams, why not similar exams with minimum 60% or more eligibility criteria for those politicians who are going to rule the country and decide the fate of our future generations. Politicians with any criminal or anti-social background must be debarred from contesting ANY elections at even the most basic levels, for minimum 20 years after they complete serving their punishment. more
We cn try for a two term model of governance as in US more
First let the elections be free of criminals, money banks and hollow promises. Probably a min. and max. age limit, no automatic promotion of kith and kin to CM or other posts if the present personality passes away or is removed from the post. Last but not the least, remove redundant political posts lije local mla, corporator etc. as they serve no purpose to the locals. more
If there is a will there is a way. The constitution has been written by the Public figures then why not the elected bring in the Amendment to the existing Laws by mending the rules to have Minimum qualification and pass in the test as suggested. In the same time these elected representative should not be given any Salary/ Perks and Facilities because if you compare their Assets Return after 5 Years it hs multiplies 200 times etc. Therefore the election fees should be 5% percent of the JUmp the Assets have gone through sop that the election expenditures can be reduced on the Public. Further any free bee announced by the Head of the Party if they win, they should pay from the Party funds and not the Public MOney. Therefore the election commission should check the veracity of statement and compare the Fund position and allow such statements. Then we will find lot of discipline and accountability. more
We can take the help of judiciary. A country where people really are like pigs and the country is like pig styce more
judiciary - biggest joke of the millennium more
