Judiciary

Judiciary has become mockery in India. It is also as corrupt as politicians. It is still following outdated British style of functioning, with court closing for summer vacation, when millions of cases are pending. Judges have no commitments to finish cases early. Adjournments, defendant absenting to delay proceedings, and after 20 years, if at all judgement comes, it loses significance. Judiciary on their own do not want any change from present set up. Nor are they worried about huge pending cases. more

Stating all politicians and executive are corrupt is not a fact and in absolute terms incorrect. However, Yes, some of them who are in vital positions are corrupt. Similarly some of the judges are corrupt and some are already behind bars. more
The victim is eager to get justice. The offender wants the judgement to be delayed if not somehow in his favour. In the name of giving opportunities generally the offender who does not file the counter and other papers seeks adjournments for years together and the victim gets frustrated. Thus injustice is perpetrated by not finalizing the cases more
Brief issue whether under the tree or over the table common man wants justice fast, conducive and fair. more
The NJAC with the veto condition indeed the proper & appropriate address to avoid those in any form found un-suitable. Even if the government/ executive is kept away , this condition helps a lot in selecting a candidate . This issue of easy address was in deed the one that is the need of the hour as in all other governing Bodies please . Thank you Sri Prabhakar . more
Judicial reforms are certainly needed , but it is the judges themselves who will have to take it upon themselves to reform the system. They should initially set a time limit to finish all cases including a road map for the pending cases. whether theywork in shifts or dont have so many holidays it is for the judges to decide . We still have a lot of faith in the judiciary all the more so in the current scenario where we are left with corrupt politicians, a corrupt bureaucracy and a non accountable parliment. It is the judiciary that time and again has risen to the occasion and we still hope they will continue to do so. more
