Is this a perfect case for filing defamation suit
I lodged some of my service matter grievances on PGMS portal. My grievances were replied by education officer/deputy director of education. Some of the statements made by education dept.about me defamatory & derogatory in nature & are absolutely false and have never taken place. For the last 90 days of so I have asking education dept. to provide me the certified copies of the relied on documents to quote such defamatory statements about me in public domain. But education dept. is not being able to provide me the documents to support their defamatory statements about me in public domain. As something of that sort has never happened. One of the statements uploaded goes like this" Your candidature was disapproved for the post you applied for"
It is all false and no one has supporting document to prove this.
Can I file defamation suit against education dept?

RTI Act is not a Myth but a reality. If RTI is filed by big shot like Kejriwal or his associates then it orders for inspection of degree of PM Modi. All big scam whether 2G or any other scam being exposed through same RTI. Yes there is a concerted effort to make this Act as a Myth rather than reality through appointments of bureaucrats in CIC. It is temporary with the policy of any ruling Government. Yet, the influential people's RTI translates substantial meaning on the ground under this present circumstances. Remember, this is the only tool left at the hand of common people in the present Governance System. So, in brief, Yes, I agree, its implication has REDUCED like any other Acts in legal domain. more

In case we are hoping something from CIC, I feel it will be hoping against hope. RTI Act seems to be a myth. I have number of RTIs and can conclusively prove that RTI Act is a Myth rather than reality. One can compare RTI applications, PIO responses, CIC decisions and sometime you will intend to scratch your head cursing yourself asking yourself who has ............................................. more

The RTI Act 2005 is not being implemented in true spirit. Even when the time limit of 30 days for the reply in exceeded by 90 days, the CIC does not impose any penalty as stipulated in Sec. 20 (1) and Sec. 20 (2) of the Act. This has made a mockery of the RTI Act20015. When government organisations themselves violate the RTI Act 2005 with impunity, why should the citizens abide by the Constitution of India? This is a serious matter. On the one hand, there is no appeal against the orders of the CIC, on the other, the govt. organisation do not reply or give false replies and get away scot-free. The CIC should not allow the laws of the land to be flouted in such blatant manner. But who is listening? more
