Is Tamil Nadu caught between two actors ?

There are two actors in Tamil Nadu who seem to have convinced themselves that they are the most suitable persons to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu today. Obviously, the two actors are waiting for appropriate time to announce their candidature and perhaps form a party.

The credibility of the existing political “leaders” and their acceptability among the people are so low that they are looking forward to the announcement of their candidature by the above actors so that they can join any one of them and get into the bandwagon and reap the rewards.

What is sad is that while talking about the next prospective Chief Minister, nobody in the media or elsewhere talk about the suitability of the persons from the point of view of their public service, knowledge of administration, expertise in governance and understanding of economic and technological issues.

Every political “leader” including the above actors seem to think that all that is required to get into power is throwing away some freebies and giving some tall promises to the people.

However, today the ground reality is different. The understanding of the people in Tamil Nadu about the lack of credibility of the politicians and suspicion about their current dealings are very high.

People would look forward to vote for a person whom they have the faith that they would do good to the state and remain honest and without getting into corrupt dealings.

No one wants the dravidian parties. They have looted the state and corruption is like anything. These actors are trying to come in to fill the vaccuum. They are saying they will do good for the people and abolish corruption. Will they really do it? This we have to wait and see. So instead of cribbing, please try give a solution and try to give us a leader. If not, lets try to give promising new people a chance.. Be it kamal or rajini or seeman or anyone else. Lets see how they choose the candidates - either it is based on money or on real credibility. People of tamilnadu have tolerated so much drama. So Lets try to vote for people who are revolutionary and have idealogies for development for state instead of the same old parties for freebies or names.. more
What is sad is that while talking about the next prospective Chief Minister, nobody in the media or elsewhere talk about the suitability of the persons from the point of view of their public service, knowledge of administration, expertise in governance and understanding of economic and technological issues. all the above can be learnt and picked up along the way, after all both of them are smart and have shined as actors learning a lot along the way and they can do it a second time round.....just that if the anchor is right for public service and playing reasonably clean politics, i guess TN can also be on its path to see its brighter days! more
whether a new bee round the block or an existing one, if public service is of primary concern and not to hoard loads of wealth or to misuse power, then anybody just about any face is welcome in today's state of peoples' mind! and both actors have made their fair share of fortunes and name and fame, if to do some good work during their retiring years for a second fruitful career......might just be looked fwd to by the people! more
It is not enough to have young and educated people at the helm. What is there to ensure they are not or will not be corrupt and will work towards development of the state? Only by introducing electoral reforms like the right to recall and the right to reject will there be any improvement. Until then, the actors will keep us entertained and fooled. more
This is the time to stop actors into politics. We should encourage people who are young, clean and educated irrespective of cast and breed. Then only Tamilnadu will flourish. People should support those people, not actors or actress. more
