is railways the only solution?

Malaysia is as big as united Andhra. But, they have 15 airports for big Aircrafts like A320, and 6 airports for ATR type aircraft. Altogether they have 21 airports. United Andhra has 6-8 airports.

Indian Railways in Andhra has 5000 kms of track while Malaysian railways has 1700 kms.

What i want to stress here, is the importance they have given for airports than railways.

In today's world where "Time is of the essence" , more airports provide a more easier option for people's movement be it for holiday/tourism or business.

I have seen in Malaysia that the big towns that have airports, have bus facilities direct from the airport to smaller important towns, thereby giving easier and faster access. more

What is stopping us to be like people of Malasiya. more
Earning capacity of people is higher and they are willing to spend, which improves the economy. In India, as a whole the earning capacity is relatively less (by legal means), not many are willing to pay their taxes as most of the earnings are from illegal means. Not but not the least people are less willing to spend even for their needs. Best example is discontinuation of the Chennai-Coimbatore shatabdhi for poor patronage nearly a decade ago, now it has been re-introduced. We need a great shift in the way we live in this country to make it better and safe. more
One of the factors for this difference is that Malaysia is a major supporting country to Japan in the Electronics manufacturing field. Secondly, the Country's literacy rate is very high even though English is less popular. The population prefers to fly than travel by train to save time for their business! more
