increasing railway passenger carrying capacity
Why railway is not implementing pushback seats as found in most luxury busses, instead of providing full bearths for sleeping which takes more space, i think its better to implement pushback seats for overnight journeys or for trains with journeys less than 12 hours. The recently introduced doubledecker trains do not have this facility and moreover by this facility more number of passengers can travel and for senior citizens its better to give them a coach or two with full berths. more

the idea of pushback seats is okay but only for short haul daytime journey as Mr.Rakesh Ghosh has rightly pointed out. more

Similarly the side upper and side lower berths in II class are small in length when compared to regular lower,,middle and upper berths.This also has to be corrected. Where as those in II AC and III Ac are quite comfortable.....Discrimnation. for II class sleeper passengers. more

Well I think pushback seats will be good for day trains with journey less than 12 Hrs. For overnight journeys passengers always look for full bearth seats for sleeping. more
