Increase in cancellation charge
Yesterday railway has increased the cancellation charges to double. I would like to submit that at one hand ticket booking time has been increased from 2 months to 4 months and other hand cancellation charges has been increased. It is nothing but indirect way of increasing the collection from the travelers. When ticket booking time is increased, we are forced to plan the travel in advance and always there is a possibility of change in travel plan and an opportunity for railway to loot the public money. Once they have revised the cancellation charge ticket booking timing should be reduced to one month. more

Now the Railway ministry has found an easy way of making money without carrying passengers. On one hand they allow reservation before 4 months and hold the amount paid without interest. Planning a journey 4 months ahead is very difficult. Now when you go for cancellation, they propose to collect huge amount as cancellation charges. Slowly the Government is becoming bania and plans to punish the passengers heavily. This is not proper way and it is a plan to plunder the public money mercilessly. more
