Improving Timeliness of Trains - Solutions
1. Busy routes should be converted to double tracks
2. More platforms should be built on busy stations to give docking space to trains
3. Technologically modern engines should be introduced in the railway system
4. Dedicated power sources should be set up to provide electricity to electric trains
5. More time and money should be invested in research and development activities
6. Needlessly pulling the chains to stop the train should attract a steep fine
7. Modern instruments should be procured, which could help the trains to run during low visibility fog time
8. The maintenance staff should be given a timeline and latest equipment to clean trains
9. Identify sections where trains run late, and look at options such as changing train timings, and finding alternative routes
10. Advanced operations research techniques used in airline industry must be deployed
11. Identify alternative and comparatively less congested routes for movement of freight
12. A department should be created to which all the delays are reported, with a reason mentioned
13. Track maintenance software should be used to monitor scheduled maintenance
14. Signalling system needs to be upgraded to current technology.
15. Unnecessary stops in intermediate stations should be removed
16. Train tracks can be illuminated with addition of Radan or equivalent chemical. Flickering solar lights can be buried between the tracks for visibility in fog
17. A law must be made to completely ban political march on railway property
18. Reasonable time must be given for loading/ unloading. If the consignment exceeds the practical limit it should not be allowed by station master
19. Stoppages at major stations should be shortened
20. Speed of the existing trains should be increased more

Dear Sir, The condition of the ffod served in the train is getting worse now a days in this regard there are few suggetions as stated below. 1) We should have some out lets of branded companies such as Macdonalds,KFC,haldirams etc at our Major Cities platforms. 2) Catering staff can take orders in moving trains and for percurements he can have foods of above outlets from platfoams when major stations comes. 3) Big kichen setups should be made on Platfoams of major cities for preperaing the fresh foods for the passengers. 4) For Expensive trains such as rajdhani and satabdi we can take caterings from Taj,Oberoes flight kichens as they provide good hygenis foods to flights. Just a simple thing I want suggest and need it to be apply in railway networks soon. As we all known that during travel in train when the train reach to the station some passengers or we can say all passengers worried to find and inquiry the station name, so I suggest to the Railway network of India that while announcing the train arrival and departure platform name and number please include the to Welcome the train between them frequently for example Welcome to the New Delhi station, the train no.10101 reach to the platform no 5.... etc. Please include the Station Welcome announcement frequently so that it ll be very much helpful to passengers, tourism and better atmosphere of railway networks to great their passengers for better India and incredible India Thanks :) more

The first and foremost ,Railway should take a target of reducing journey time at least by10% for all the trains.this can be achieved easily by minor improvements in the operations.There is good amount of cushion available.This will not only give the passengers much sought after relief but also release the congestion on lines.For instance Duranto running between Howrah and Yeswantpur is deliberately delayed to match the time.It can easily reach 2to3 hours early. Average speed of trains can also be increased by 10% to ease the pressure on line more
