Critics may read rule on animal slaugher fully

Most of Tamil TV anchors and Tamil media personnel seem not to have read the notification issued by Modi government on animal slaughter carefully.

Nowhere in the notification, it is said that the animal slaughter has been banned. It has only regulated the market for animal. For slaughter, buyers can procure from farm and there is no ban on it.

Muslims consider Koran as holy, Christians consider Cross and Bible holy and Hindus consider Gita and Cow as holy. Sentiments of Christians and Muslims should be respected. In the same way, should not the sentiments of Hindus on cow also be respected. ? Why critics do not accept this?

Critics say that slaughter of animal for eating is not cruelty. Then what is cruelty ? Tamil Nadu police arrested a person for dropping a live dog from top of the building. Another person was arrested for poisoning stray dog.

Notification of Modi government should be studied carefully before the critics start complaining. Are they more interested only in protesting ?

It is Hindu Rashtra. Todays Muslims and Christians were only hindus once upon a time. It is only due to force circumstance they embraced other religion. Politicians encouraged them for their vote bank. These people should be told to return back to their parent religion if they have to be in India. We don't want secularism. We want the old, divine and great hindu religion back in India (Hindu Rashtra-original name). These are the ones spoiling the country Auditor Ramani On Tue, May 30, 2017 at 10:46 PM, N.S. I understand that in the State of Jammu and Kashmir cow slaughter was banned long ago and people there abjure from eating cow meat. So there they do not find it a new problem. However in Tamilnadu, it is the practice to rear cows so long as they yield milk and thereafter the animals are sold for whatever purpose. Some private goshalas take in aged cattle but I am not aware of government-run shelters for cattle past their prime. The legislation appears to have been brought in without preparing the ground suitably to prevent misconception or misrepresentation, if it is only to ensure safe and healthy practice in slaughter houses or prevent torture of cattle. I have seen the reprehensible way cattle are bundled in lorries and shipped to Kerala State from Tamilnadu. So tightly packed that one animal is held up by the surrounding animals and dangles without being able to place its hooves on the base. Also they are shipped in the hot sun without access to food or drink. If these practices are to be stopped the legislation should be specific about these issues. Otherwise certainly interested parties will fish in troubled waters and make it murkier. There is also the problem of stray/rabid dogs attacking/biting and eating human beings which does not speak well of the legislation that they should be rounded up, and RELEASED IN THE PLACE WHERE THEY WERE ROUNDED UP! Since stray dogs are a threat to passers-by they should be avoided. Every dog should have a home and an owner and not allowed to run loose in city streets. Here the laws to protect stray dogs are actually working against the safety and security of human beings. In the present instance also the powers-that-be should emulate Gandhiji's advice to analyse how the legislation would affect the poorest of the land, and if it is deemed detrimental to them have a rethink on it. I recall a well-known Samskrita scholar in Chennai who declared while expounding on the Chandogya Upanishad, that it is not in good taste to declare that one commits a sin through one's eating habits. After all, people eat what has come to form their diet through age-old custom, traditions or practices and we ought not to adopt a holier-than-thou attitude and criticise their food habits as sinful! As an example, silk garments are worn widely in India and elsewhere. Are we not then committing a sin by killing the silk-worms for the sake of silk garments? The seer of Kanchi, a saint of our times, Shri Chandrasekhara Saraswati, taught us to avoid silk and choose to wear only cotton garments. I doubt if the most religious amongst us ever follows his advice. L.Kalavathi Retd. Bank Official Chennai, Tamilnadu, India 1/06/2017 more
Inciting students of prestigious instiutions and make them not to function is the main aim of the frustrated opposition parties. Unnecessarily the students are poking their nose in these activities . Let students involve in what for they have joined the institutions and forget about this kind of things, which will certainly affect their studies. Kerala High Court has dismissed the petition on this subject correctly. What Shri NSV Sir said is there in the judgement. Opposition parties (especially Cong and left) waiting for opportunities to blame the Government on every move. This is not good for the opposition parties in the long run. Let them behave properly and fight where there is need and necessity in the interest of the people and not unnecessarily waste their and students energy. more

NSV PRESENTED WELL ABOUT COW SLAUGHTER REGULATION EXISTED ALREADY BUT NOT IMPLIMENTED AS USUAL BY VESTED POLITICIANS EARLIER MAINLY CONGRESS JUST SOLLY ON VOTE BANK CONSIDERATION, WHICH PLOY NO MORE POSSIBLE TO CHEAT COMMON MAN. EVEN SOME MEDIA AND T.V. PRESENT THE RULE ON THE WRONG SENSE JUST TO SENSITISE THE NON ISSUE.ALL LEGAL SLAUGHTER HOUSES ARE FUNCTIONING NORMALLY EXCEPT SOME STRAY INCIDENTS JUST FOR MEDIA AND T.V. TO SHOW CASE. EVEN SUPREME COURT ORDER IS WRONGLY INTERPRETED. WE FIGHT FOR JALLIKATTU AND WORSHIP COW, BUT OPPOSE REGULATION ON COW SLAUGHTER. ANY POLITICAL PARTY DARE OPENLY ANY RULE OR ACTION THAT IMPINGES MONORITY. AFRAID WHEN THIS SILLY VOTE BANK POLITICS WILL END EVEN AFTER 70 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE. NOW DRAVIDIAN PARTIES FORGOTTEN FARMERS PROBLEM/ WATER PROBLEM/ AIR AND NOISE POLLUTION, ENDANGERING DAY TO DAY LIFE AND RAISING CRITICAL ON NON ISSUES LIKE BEEF EATING ETC. NOT THE SOLUTION FOR THESE BASIC NEEDS. more
