Correction in Khasra No. of my House
I inherited a house from my father at Varanasi and now
I am planning to sell it . I contacted a Lawyer to see my
papers etc. , After examining the papers , Lawyer told me that Khasra No. mentioned for the house is not correct and now it is very difficult officially to get it corrected and I have to pay heavy amount to officials for this correction . I request my learned members to suggest , how to proceed in the matter to correct Khasra No. officially . more

It would better to visit Revenue Office/City Survey Office of your area with available papers and verify Khasra numbers of adjacent properties to know whose names are recorded as owners to assess the exact position of your property( which belongs from your father). On the basis of your findings give an application for correction if any needed in your case. You may also collect copies of adjacent properties (as your father/you is residing there for many years, it will be not difficult for you to request your neighbors) to know Khasra numbers of there properties and also to know position of your property. more

Do you have any document to prove that the house belongs to your father. The only possibility that khasra number is wrong is if your purchased vacant land and built the house without getting it demarcated by the concerned patwari (revenue official). Please get in touch with the patwari for correct picture. Do npt go by word of lawyer. Obtain copies of relevant documents. more

let me know first where your property is located?? secondly whether wrong number mentioned in the previous document or whether it was wrongly mentioned in in your Khatha certificate. then i can give you correct opinion. more
