Better Railways.

A long journey need reservation. To get a confirmed ticket one has to book a month ahead. This is not possible in an emergency.

For short distance journey one has to travel in an overcrowded train with hardly standing space or sometimes only hanging space is available.

Wonder why this issue is not put in discussion? more

Most of the time railway's argument is "Passanger travel is not paying". So make it profitable for railways by increasing the fares to actually cover the costs. Atleast this can be implemented in some selact trains. People who can afford to pay for their travel will opt for this mode as it will still be cheaper and hassle free than Air travel. Increasing one or two coaches once in a while as per demand will also solve the problem of over crowding. more
Increasing/decreasing the number of coaches based on demand can be thought of. If the waitlist remains high continuously throughout the year then a longer train or a new train can be started. I understand that the railways is short of resources and also number of coaches, but this seems to be the only plausible solution. more
We do need Bullet trains.Bullet trains will provide both relatively safer and cheaper mode of transport than airways.I hope Jayakrishna Ji knows that even today it takes 3 complete days to travel from one part of India to other. more
What about those trains running overloaded throughout the year? What about waiting for a month to get a confirmed ticket throughout the year? Can the Station Master solve these problems? more
This can be taken care by introducing/reserving few berths for emergency situations and a system where the station master can allocate the berth on such special scenarios. If it remains un-utilised RAC/Waitlisted tickets can be accomodated. more
