Availability and booking by type of berth
Since several years, flights and buses allow selection of particular seats for booking.
It is still not available on trains when booking online.
1. When booking, it does not give seat vacancy by berth type (how many upper berths available, how many middle etc).
2. It does not allow to select a particular berth, seat etc.
Only after paying the money, it shows the type of berth/seat. This is a harrowing experience especially when booking for sick or old people like my mother.
Once payment is done, it shows that she got a upper berth. How will she climb? What should we do now? She has to then plead with all around for a lower berth.
Why can't the booking screen show if the chosen type of berth is available or not, and allow to select if so ?

Stoppage of begger on platforms, within running trains and outside platforms within Railway boundaries needs to be checked. Who is responsible for checking this problems? Surely each one blaming other. One agency should be responsible for checking beggers in already crowded platforms, railway area. Station Master/Station Superintendent should be authorised for keeping his station in order. Has anyone ever seen camera footage of their area to look for this problem. Please enforce this to save passengers from anti social elements within railway boundaries/ trains. more
