Atrocious pay increse for TamilNadu MLAs

Inspite of Tamil Nadu government facing debt of several thousand crores of rupees and deficit budget year after year, it would have become insolvent if it would have been a private company.

But, government is a no man's property as far as politicians are concerned.

Inspite of such severe financial stress, with no fund left for implementing several development projects and with least regard for public opinion, Tamil Nadu MLAs are more than doubling their salary and perks.

Apart from the fact that they are not bothered about the severe criticism and anger from the public about their pay increase, they do not even seem to have conscience which should tell them that pay increase at the present juncture is unethical and immoral decision.

Obviously, very small people with no credibility worth it's name are now sitiing as MLAs and ministers.

There need to be public outcry but citizens of Tamilnadu have to wake up like in case of Jallikattu. There need to be a movement to treat them par with employees of other organisations both pvt and public with attached punitive actions. Every one need to insist for constitutional amendment for this purpose. more
That is why there is a need for a change in the constitution itself. people elected should not decide their salary. Also they shall be recalled back if not performing the way they are expected to perform or at least what they promised during election. if this is not done there is no way to fix accountability for them more
If it is possible, Public Interest Litigation like petition can be filed in HC to stop this. more
I support the pay increase for MLAs of Tamil Nadu. Majority of the people of Tamil Nadu are supportive to corruption and have no regard for their valuable votes and are keen in electing only corrupt people without ashamed off for a petty price. This state prefers such rulers only who are for themselves and not for Tamil Nadu. Vazhga Tamil Nadu valrga supportive people of corruption. more
Why Can't the Court intervene in this matter?. It has been taking up some righteous issues in the recent past. Recent example is the case of the transport strike where the court asked them to consider public convenience during Pongal festival. Appropriate action is required in the case of these non-deserving MLAs too. more
