Thanks to all responses. That it does not matter and that the GBM can decide the rules/procedures/duties etc is common sense. The finer advice I was looking for is whether it is a common practice for a "RWA" to register as "RA" or there could be a hidden agenda, opaque to a simplistic eye? For example Mr. Verma writes JVVFOWA. What rules/duties/inspections can he avoid, or(to put it in another way) what extra rights/(immunity vs any legislation that governs RWAs) could he acquire, if he was to drop the "W"? more

RWA/RA are the same. It has to be registered by Registrar of the area, including by-laws. Further roles & responsibilities are to be framed by GBM and the same is also approved by Registrar. more

The rules framed by the RA / RWA and duly registered with the Registrar of Societies decides the role and responsibilities of this body. If it is not registered, it is an illegal body. This is my personal view. more
