Mumbai roads may be the most poorly maintained roads amongst all the metro cities of India.For example, in old Prabhadevi Road, any agency comes and digs it and it remains in that condition for years. It has become a nightmare to drive on this road.

i thing for the situation of road and bridges is problem with contractors, if any of the road having problem before 10 years from date of submission by contractor then his all contract should be cancelled and he should not be eligible to apply for next 10 years for any of the government tender or work directly or indirectly.

even after rains have stopped potholes in highways from south Mumbai till Kurla & Bandra are not repaired, same is with bridges... busy subbrbs like Andheri, VIkroli, bhnadup has the similar stories...
at least busy highways & free ways should be free from the potholes so that travelers wont feel the pinch esp when they are paign so much of road taxes...
