Transparancy in treating Corona patients in Govt & Private Hospitals.

It is well known that Govt.of India have already prescribed protocol in dealing Corona patients in both Govt and Private Hospitals. How ever even in private hospitals who charge heavily for corona treatment are flouting the protocol. many patients who run temperature for longer period are necessitated to get themselves in hospitals. However, as soon as they are admitted inside the hospitals their health condition and progress of treatment is hidden to the kith and kin and the treating doctor refuse to give their mobile number to patients so that their well wishing medical practitioners could not ascertain the line of treatment and progress made in the patient. The family members are also prevented to see and talk to patients in person and thus the personal connection between family and patient is totally cut. The patients could talk to family member only though mobile provided they are in fit condition to talk. Otherwise they are totally cut out contact and the family members are very much in mental agony about what is happening to the patients. The Doctors treating do not talk to family members in detail about the treatment done and the progress of patient. So many want their well wishing relative doctors to contact the treating doctor once in 2 or 3 days and ascertain about the treatment progress. In once case a leading doctor wanted to talk to treating doctor, but that treating doctor refuse either give his mobile number or talk to the well wisher doctor. If the doctor are order to give their mobile number to patient this will give definitely a boost to family members and relieve them from the mental agony, since the treating doctor alone knows the real condition of the patient. THE GOVT.OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HEALTH MUST ISSUE ORDERS THAT ALL CORONA PATIENT TREATING DOCTORS SHOULD GIVE OUT THEIR MOBILE NUMBER AND INFORM THEIR NAME TO PATIENT IMMEDIATELY ON ADMISSION IF THE PATIENT IS IN A CONDITION TO UNDERSTAND IT. IF NOT THE DOCTORS SHOULD GIVE THESE INFORMATION TO THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ADMITTED THE PATIENT SO THAT THEY CAN FOLLOW THE PROGRESS OF THE PATIENTS. THIS VERY IMPORTANT AND GOI MUST ISSUE ORDERS IN THIS REGARD. more

It is true that Corona patients are mishandled in our country. One will realize when get admitted (wish no body experiences this) how irresponsible are the doctors and staff. Overall management in government hospitals specially in Kanpur (UP) is highly disheartening. Private hospitals try to maximize their profit. more
A very important problem that needs a solution to the satisfaction of patient' kith & kin and practical for the treating doctor. Some one working with the treating doctor may be assigned the job of calling the patient's family member periodically and update the family about the patient's health and progress. This gesture would ease the tension of patient family without disturbing the doctor. more
Although I agree with what you have stated, the problem is the anxiety of the relatives in bombarding questions repeatedly to the doctors and nurses. It would be wise if instructions are given to all hospitals to give a detailed daily bulletin on each patient on his/her status and the treatment given. The patient's medical sheet can be allowed to be photographed to reduce wastage of time. more
Very difficult for doctors to handle thousands of calls from kith and kin. One doctor I know did for ONE patient. He received more than 93 calls in the next 3 hours from the kith and kin!! more
I agree. Doctors are human too. more
