Railway Cancellation

I had planned a holiday with my family and relations to Kerala from 26th to 29th.March.The same had to be cancelled because of the current situation. Since our tickets were by train I cancelled the tickets about a week ago and naturally had to pay the cancellation charges. Subsequently all the train services were cancelled and the Railways had notified that there will be no cancellation charges. When I approached the IRCTC in this regard they told me that since the tickets were cancelled prior to the cancellation of trains I am liable bear the cancellation charges. I thought this was a little unfair on the passengers. more

SUCH RULINGS ARE VERY COMMON FOR MOST OF THE GOVERNMENT ESTABLISHMENTS AND IT IS ANNOYING THAT THE MOTIVE CANNOT BE JUST MONEY MAKING EVEN AT THIS DISTRESS HOUR. RAILWAY MINISTRY HAS TO LOOK INTO THIS. more
