Public transport
Hello all citizens of Goa I would like to request you to provide inputs to improve public transport and safety of public in Goa.
Few suggestions
There should be regular checking by authorities for lights, indicators, pressure horns if public transport including Kadamba.
PUC should be checked.
Dress code of driver, conductor should be checked.
Driver should be penalised for using mobile while driving.
Sitting standing capacity should be fixed as per bus size and to be made compulsory to display it on windscreen.
There should be a statewide helpline for any complaint with prompt action force to comply.
Bus stop should be marked and violators should be fined for stopping the bus any where else.
Police ,RTO, administrative authorities and our members should coordinate the movements without interference of local politicians.
Passenger should help by providing compliance of these movements . more

Helmets are meant for the safety of the rider(s), and not to play cat and mouse with cops. Is there a simple lack of education there. Some people prefer to play politics, and say there are vested interests in the manufacture of helmets etc. and the issue dragged on, while many riders have lost their lives. more

However many good suggestions may come and laws and rules be made, but unless we have honest and upright officials to implement these laws and the rules, everything is futile. Everyone knows one's rights very well but know one knows his duties and his obligations to other individuals and the nation. One should know to protect the rights of others too. more

1-There should be a public/commuter`s complaint card to report misbehaviour of Taxi drivers,bus drivers & conductors. 2-Make meter mandatory for taxis & auto rickshaws. 3-Uniform should be compulsory with badge for all drivers and conductors specially motor cycle pilots. 4-Online records of police/R.T.O.`s action take against complaints should be maintained. more

Few more inputs for authorities if they are checking the posts. Frequent breath tests. Talking on mobile phone while driving. Rash overtaking, blocking other vehicles. Blocking the highway by making illegal bus stops on both sides of road . What I suggests is there should be a flying squad for area wise patrolling with a control room . I know rules are there but we Indians follow rules only when we are punished. Simple example riders change place of helmet from hand to head when they see cops with checking gears. So execution ,enforcement of rules are mandatory for safety of all. Same way overcrowded buses should be checked with police and passengers should be made to wait for head count, that will desist them from boarding a over capacity bus . more

I feel all the rules are in place, but we fail in implementation. Is it not the responsibility of conductor to implement the same. Secondly, the ladies should occupy reserved seats first, but they don't in many cases. It is also seen that reserved seats are not given unless the reserved passenger requests or demands the same. more
