Protecting Honest Bureaucrats -

In India, honest Bureaucrats are threatened or tortured, or transferred frequently or booked in some fraudulent/corruptive cases by unworthy colleagues/ superiors/subordinates/local politicians. Why? Because the work of said unworthy people could not be carried out with these honest officials. This annoys these corrupts. Unless the superiors are honest, in intermediate honest officers cannot survive. How to correct? It is difficult to swipe clean from the bottom of hierarchy, but is easy to appoint honest minister, Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Heads of Offices and if this is done these officers/politicians will see that their administration is clean. The Government, whether Central Govt., or State Govt, should protect the honest officers despite the ill advises of the local politicians against the honest officers. If any complaint comes to Govt., the Secretariat must summon him and get his explanation and also make discreet enquiry about the matter and then only take decision about next action to be taken. more

Interesting development of a group of joint secretaries in central govt plead for cancellation of suspension of a officer alleged to have given for renewal of IRF an NGO of Dr Zakir Naik stating that junior in the dept are responsible. IAS and IPS lobby protect their own cadres very well more
Stn. Sitting in off. Not visiting,Platform, ticketing hall, toilets, never contexts pass anger for their problems. Most of ticket vending machines remains out of order, only your vending staff handling machine working. No machines kept at doors where ticket window not a valance. more
The Indian Society as a whole is corrupt. Politicians are the epitome of corruption. Every person goes to his/her place of worship with offerings to ask for a favour. All religions in India Sikh, Muslims, Hindus, Jains, etc has this culture. So we never think twice going to a person in power (politician or bureaucrat) with offerings to ask for favours. That is corruption. So why complain about others when we teach our children the corruption at every stage in life. Which father tells his child that he will not pay capitation fee in medical collage for his son/daughter? Why after so many years of the independence government after government is supporting reservations? You mean to say in 70 years we could not uplift the downtrodden? No, it is not for upliftment of casts, it is political corruption, to earn easy votes without performing for nation building. So let us all become honest first. Do not pay for school/collage admissions of your children, do not bribe policeman for handing you ticket for driving offences, do not vote for corrupt politicians at ward/state/national levels even if he/she is from the party you are supporting for the ideology of the party. Once we achieve this higher level of integrity there will be no need for us to worry about any unworthy colleagues/ superiors/subordinates/local politicians as they will be redundant. If there is no demand for out of turn favours whom will these unworthy lot going to serve? more
Very true, I know the helplessness but still we citizen cant unite to teach the corrupt a lesson. Reverse brain drain from India is mainly because of this but we are happy... more
