How can your bank account with internet banking facility can be compromised (hacked)?

1. Attacker accesses your name and date of birth from Facebook.
2. With these details he goes to the IncomeTax site and updates them. From there he obtains the pancard and mobile numbers.
3. Then he gets a duplicate pancard made.
4. After this he lodges a mobile theft complaint in a police station.
5. With the duplicate pancard he gets another simcard from the mobile company.
6. Through internet banking he is now ready to access your account.
7. He goes to the site and uses the forgot my password option.
8. Now he easily gets past other options and gets the Internet banking pin on his simcard.
All those who use Net Banking are requested to edit Facebook profile and delete the birth date and mobile no. as a safety measure.

It can be noted that theft happens even if you lock the house properly. For the thief it is not that easy to enter the locked house and do burglary . But still happens. Similarly there are many electronic gates to unlock and thats not easy. If you follow all safety precautions directed by bank, under normal circumstances, , nothing to worry. There are many systems running other than banking. Everything protected by password and other firewalls . more

It is really a whistle blower information. What to do. The government must take all necessary steps to thwart and to ponder over. The matter exemplified in respect of the social websites like facebook and etc is posing great risk to privacy. In view of the risks reported, it is better to Please do away with all aadhar, face book,whatsapp utilities in the best interest of mankind. more

Point No 2 is doubtful. To log in to IT you need PAN number. Then how can you obtain PAN number only with name and mobile number ? more

It is shocking to learn that one can get pan card details online. Is it not ridiculous that such information can be had by any one ? Pan card number is required between an individual and Income tax department as well as between holder and banks or so on. Why these are to be publicly available ?? With such fraud occurrence, authorities must ensure that Pan Card or Aadhar card or voter card should not be posted on any sites. Will it hamper some work, I do not think so. more
